For more than twenty years, we’ve worked in the field of consulting archaeology. There have been a lot of changes, and we believe there are lots more to come. We think archaeology is overdue for a shake-up, and we don’t need to do archaeology the way it’s been done before. We need to widen who can practice archaeology, and for what purposes. We need to transfer our knowledge to other practitioners. We need to think outside the classroom and make heritage education more accessible, more affordable, more applicable to local interests and goals, and more transparent.
We believe that the future of archaeological consulting is Indigenous managed and owned companies at local levels. We’re supporting that shift by helping to build capacity from the bottom up, and providing high-level, student-centred, outcomes-based education to Indigenous communities who wish to increase management of their own heritage, and to all learners who want to modernize how they think about archaeology.
We're calling the educational focus of the company Kleanza Seeds, acknowledging that great things grow from small ideas. Our team is made up of professional archaeologists and educators who care deeply about teaching, and who want to practice archaeology for good.
We’re excited you’re here, and we look forward to learning along with you.
