Field Survey


This two-day course begins in the classroom with note taking, photography, safety, and map reading basics. The second day applies these skills in the field during a survey, where students will safely orienteer using

compass and hip chain, and record a day in “the bush”. Ideal for: industry professionals, First Nations, students.

Culturally modified tree recording


This one-day course is field based and teaches the basics in recognizing and recording CMTs. Ideal for: industry professionals, First Nations crew members, students.

Archaeology and wildfire


This one-day course is designed for wildfire crews working in BC. It provides an overview of the HCA, mitigation, and impacts of wildfire on archaeological sites, and how to apply knowledge in the field. Suitable for: BC wildfire crews.
